Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI will host an exhibition of works by Jay Hall Carpenter. The show premieres October 9th and runs through November 11th. Carpenter’s new work, Mother of Sorrows, is included. The show compliments the three public statues Carpenter has in the Grand Rapids area: St. Thomas Aquinas (2016), Bishop Frederic Baraga (2012) and Helen Claytor (2014).
Bob Coffee’s Pop the Whip will be installed in Cedar Park Sculpture Garden in Cedar Park, TX. The garden, which opened in 2013, features an annual rotating display of sculptures in a variety of styles. Coffee’s work is throughout Texas and the U.S. and his Partners is the centerpiece of the Texas Sheriff’s Memorial in Austin, TX.
The Western Visions show in Wyoming runs through October 9th. The show is the National Museum of Wildlife Art’s largest and longest running fundraiser and offers a variety of exciting events. Gerald Balciar, Kenneth R. Bunn, George Arthur Carlson, David Everett, Simon Gudgeon, Nicola Hicks, Steve Kestrel, Richard F. Loffler, Walter T. Matia, Leo E. Osborne, Diana Reuter-Twining, Bill Rice, Brad Rude, Sandy Scott, Tim Shinabarger, Kent Ullberg, and Bart Walter are part of the exhibition.
Fred X Brownstein is part of North Bennington’s Outdoor Sculpture Show. His work, Landscape, is sculpted from Vermont marble. Brownstein has been an exhibitor since the beginning of the show 19 years ago and also curated the show a few years ago. The works of 37 artists are on view through October 23 in the Vermont town.
Ken Newman is competing in the ArtPrize Eight. Newman’s tribute to the blue collar worker stands 96 inches tall and will be on view from September 21 – October 9th at Fifth Third Bank Plaza in Grand Rapids, MI.
