David H. Turner is the Featured Artist at the 46^th Annual Waterfowl Festival which is dedicated to wildlife conservation, the promotion of wildlife art and the celebration of life on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The Festival takes place from Thursday, November 10th – Sunday, November 13th in Easton, MD.  As Featured Artist, Turner sculpted Tidewater Terrapin, a depiction of Maryland’s state reptile, exclusively for the event.

Turner is president and co-founder of Turner Sculpture, a studio, foundry and gallery, in Onley, VA.  Earlier this year, he unveiled Freedom’s Sentinel, a sculpture mounted in the pediment of the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, VA.  The 18-foot-wide, 500-pound sculpture depicts an eagle mantling two eaglets between its outspread wings.  A stars-and-stripes shield on the eagle’s chest represents the 13 colonies at the time of the American Revolution and the two eaglets reflect the museum’s mission to educate future generations.  Additional public commissions by Turner are Alligator at Benson Sculpture Garden, Canada Geese at Chicago Botanic Garden and Bald Eagles at the College of William and Mary.
