Ripples of Change by Jane DeDecker, FNSS
On September 24, Jane DeDecker’s Ripples of Change was unveiled in Seneca Falls, NY. The monument depicts 4 activists whose tireless work effected change in the rights for women in the United States. The over life-size bronze figures of Laura Cornelius Kellogg, Harriet Tubman, Martha Coffin Wright, and Sojourner Truth are located in the town considered the cradle of the women’s rights movement. The sculpture took DeDecker eight months to complete. Among the many people who attended the unveiling and dedication were Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and the Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin.
