Zenos Frudakis will unveil his 8′ high bronze of Frederick Law Olmsted on April 22nd.  The work, at The North Carolina Arboretum, is the first full size bronze sculpture of Olmsted.  Frudakis depicts Olmsted with an abstract topographic map, highlighting Olmsted’s renown as a landscape architect.

This work is just one of Frudakis’ many public monuments.  He is also responsible for the 10′ high statue of Frank Rizzo in Philadelphia, PA;  The U.S. Air Force Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery; and Arnold Palmer at the George Golf Hall of Fame.  Read more about the project at ARCHINECT and CURBED.

Earlier in the year,  the fifth cast of Frudakis’ The Honor Guard was unveiled at The American Air Museum (a new division of The British Imperial War Museum) in Duxford, England. In attendance were HRH The Duke of Kent, who serves as President of the British Imperial War Museum and H. Ross Perot, Jr., who cut the ceremonial ribbon.
